Sam is experiencing his first cold. It is heart breaking to hear him coughing and to barely hear his muted cries (he's lost his voice!) but he is somehow still smiling through it all. It is not that surprising that he caught a bug. Over the last two weeks, he was in three states, two planes, two cars, three pack n' plays, and held by 21 people by my count. He was a champion through everything and he waited until we got home from it all to get sick. Poor, glorious boy.
Highlights since I last wrote:
We spent Thanksgiving in Iowa at Grandma Mimi's. We also saw Grandpa George and Grandpa T with a smattering of other friends and relatives. Here is Sam's turkey shirt:
Sam has become much more alert and cognizant of the world around him. We read lots of books and so far he sits still and likes to look and listen.
As I mentioned above, Sam took his first plane ride recently when we went on our trip to Florida to visit the Great-Grandfolks. He did very well. Several people commented afterward that they didn't even know he was on the plane he was so quiet. Here is a picture with me after take-off.
I'M NOT GOING TO COMPLAIN... but it was about 60 degrees when we were in Florida. Except for this day which Jesse highlights with no shirt.
When we got back from Florida, we hopped in the car the next day and drove to Iowa to spend Christmas with Grandma Bibi and then with Grandma Mimi and Bobaloo. On our way, we found a baby reindeer on the side of the road and decided to bring him with us.
That's it for now. We hope you had wonderful holidays and that 2010 is a healthy and prosperous year for everyone!
